This Nine Men's Morris Deluxe Round Hardwood Game is hand crafted here in the United States. Nine Men's Morris is a clever two person strategy game that takes 10 minutes to play. It is very ancient but always engaging. The object is to make vertical or horizontal rows of three pegs of one's own color. Pegs are placed in the outer rings at the start of each game. Players alternately place one peg of their color on the game playing area each turn. The playing area is the three squares with connecting lines. After all the pegs are placed on the board a player moves one peg one space on each turn. Should a player get three pegs of their color in a row they remove (capture) one of their opponents pegs. First player down to two pegs loses. This distinctive game board will look great on any coffee table. Board measures 13 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with colorful 2 1/4 inch pegs. (total of 18 pegs). Includes instructions. These boards are of superior construction, hand crafted with unique geometric patterns of various domestic and imported hard woods (all from sustained sources). Game Board is finished with multiple coats of clear lacquer to enhance the natural beauty of the wood. No stains, paints, or dyes of any kind are used. Pegs are painted with bright child safe colors.
