Katamino is a colorful all wood brainteaser which includes the exact 10 pieces from the traditional Pentominoes Puzzle as well as 8 additional small blocks. This award winning puzzle helps develop spatial and reasoning skills as puzzlers attempt to fit the odd shaped blocks into the predetermined space. To begin a simpler puzzle place the wood spacer in position number 3. Fill the space completly with the larger pentominoe pieces. see how many different combinations can be used to fill the empty space.
Continue with a new more difficult puzzle by moving the spacer to position 4, then 5, 6 etc. The larger the empty space the more challenging the puzzle. Uou will find several possible solutions for each space.
Additional free form puzzles can be attempted outside the wood frame.
The width and thickness of all pieces is equal (approximately 3/4 inch). These are the same Pentominoe shapes in the popular children's book Chasing Vermeer.
